Faith is a fictional character based on real beliefs and ideas. Jocelyn Watkin and Kim Gabites are the creators of Faith.
Faith represents what we believe is the heart of financial planning - the need to have goals and bold dreams AND the know-how on how to achieve them. A goal is a dream with a deadline. A goal is not a goal, if you don’t want to make the right choices to achieve it. A goal is something you want to keep faith with.
Jocelyn and Kim both have financial planning experience and have read numerous books on money management. They want to make financial planning and goal setting real.
Faith was created to put all the jargon and important information into a context that people can relate to. She doesn’t want to tell you whether you should, or not, invest in shares. She is not interested in giving you an economics lesson. Faith is all about helping you to help yourself. She wants you to find your reason for wanting a better life and for wanting to understand money - what this means to you and what it can do for you. Faith provides guidance, common sense and the challenge to achieve what you really want.
Life is not a trial run. Life should be lived. Faith’s book is not an exercise book. We wanted to be thought provoking and we wanted to challenge you to really live life.
Money is just a tool. By itself, it doesn’t automatically make life great or good. Money can provide choice – but only if you know what choices to make. Money management is only successful when carried out with a purpose and a series of goals, including big, bold, life dreams. Achieving “financial bliss” is about getting real and finding out what makes your life worth living. Once you’ve discovered that, then you need to keep faith with it.
